(1) Georgetown (Ky)- The Tigers are set to make their season opener on Monday vs Midway (Ky) on Monday, and WVU Tech on Friday.
(15) University of the Cumberlands (Ky)- The Patriots went 2-0 on the weekend with wins over Johnson and IU Southeast at home. Tevin Olison had an impressive weekend for the team, as he is averaging 24.5 points per game through two games.
(RV) Thomas More (Ky)- The Saints took care of Taylor (Ind) over the weekend to start off 1-0. The team got a good performance out of Ryan Batte, who had 24 points in the win.
(RV) Shawnee State (Ohio)- The Bears are set to make their season opener on Monday vs Great Lakes Christian.
Campbellsville (Ky)- The Tigers are set to open this week, as they take on Kentucky Christian on Wednesday, Simmons College of Kentucky on Friday, and Union (Ky) on Saturday.
Pikeville (Ky)- The Bears are set to open their season vs University of Rio Grande on Friday
Life (Ga)- The Runnin’ Eagles are off to a good start after a 2-0 weekend to start the season. The team put together lopsided wins over Thomas (Ga) by 18 and Southeastern Baptist by 29.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky)- The Blue Raiders are set to make their season debut on Monday vs Simmons (Ky).
Cumberland (Tenn)- The Phoenix have their season opener set for November 14th vs Asbury (Ky)
Bethel (Tenn)- The Wildcats will make their season debut on Tuesday vs Brescia (Ky) and then face Blue Mountain (MS) on Thursday.
Freed-Hardeman (Tenn)- The Lions have their season opener on Saturday vs Blue Mountain (MS)
Martin Methodist (Tenn)- The Redhawks are set to make their season debut on Saturday vs Brescia
Wright’s Wonder Rankings
(1) Georgetown (Ky)- The Tigers hold the top spot in the initial Top-25 rankings. They will definitely be the team to beat this season.
(15) Cumberlands (Ky)- The Patriots looked good over the weekend, and based off of the first two games, the team looks like a national title contender.
(RV) Thomas More (Ky)- The Saints pulled out a hard fought win over the weekend over Taylor (Ind). If the team continues to close out close games, they could be a national title contender.
Life (Ga)- With better competition coming down the road, the Runnin’ Eagles passed the eye test in week 1, leaving no doubt in their victories over the weekend.
Campbellsville (Ky)- The Tigers are an intriguing team, and a lot of questions will be answered this week about this year’s team. I’m looking ahead to Saturday’s matchup vs Union (Ky) to see how things turn out for the Tigers.
Shawnee State (Ohio)- Idle last week. I expect them to take care of Great Lakes Christian.
Pikeville (Ky)- Idle last week. I think Coach Compton gets things rolling, and his first win as Head coach vs Rio Grande on Friday.
Lindsey Wilson (Ky)- Idle last week. Friday’s matchup vs Simmons (Ky) could be interesting potentially, but I have the blue Raiders taking that one.
Bethel (Tenn)- Idle last week. The Wildcats have games this week vs Brescia (Ky) and Blue Mountain (MS) that could preview how the rest of the season could go.
Freed-Hardeman (Tenn)- My sleeper pick. The Lions have a few new faces in their key rotations, and Saturday’s matchup vs Blue Mountain (MS) could also be a sign of things to come for the Lions.
Cumberland (Tenn)- Idle this week. Will open their season on November 14th.
Martin Methodist (Tenn)- Saturday’s game vs Brescia could give a preview on the Redhawks chances of competing in the MSC race.
