Edward Waters @ 17 Talladega NOON CTย Live Video ย The GCAC Pods seemed to go pretty smoothly yesterday. It kind of resembles the opening round of Conference Tournaments that are all played at one site. Talladega survived Rust yesterday and are playing without All-American Darryl Baker. They will need aย big day from Paul Turner to pull out another win over Maurice Johnson and Edward Waters this afternoon.
Lyon is off to a 2-0 start to their American Midwestย Conference season. Both of which were road wins. Tonight they hit the road again to face league favorite Central Baptist. CBC is coming off of a non conference loss to Rust, but still sit at 1-0 in AMC play. This will be a battle of contrasting styles as CBC likes to play more uptempo and Lyon will look to slow it down and use their defense to win games.

2020-2021 has taught us a lot about scheduling. When two teams have an opening, you schedule it, even if it is just a couple days away. Tonight we get a treat with this game. John Brown hasn’t played a game yet this season, but return almost everyone from a team who was so good defensively last season, including All-Americans Luke Harper and Densier Carnes. They face a red hot USAO team who already have two Top 25 wins this season, including this past week over #3 MACU. Buckle up for this one, because it will be a good one!

Five Players To Watch
It’s not just the Stephon Hall show at USAO, but tonight they will face one of the best defensive teams they will face all year long. Hall has great experience in the league and at the National Tournament. He shows up in big games and this is a BIG one!
He hasn’t played this season yet, but the 3rd team NAIA DI All-American from last year can really play! This is a veteran JBU team that will be ready to go tonight against USAO. Look for Luke Harper’s number to get called early and often. They have some good talent on this JBU team, but when Harper gets going he is fun to watch.
Yes, we are highlighting RayShawn Mart again. We can’t help ourselves. He is just so much fun to watch. The game looks so easy to him. He is a smooth scorer, who just seems to get it done EVERY game. He had 20pts and 9reb in the GCAC Pod yesterday. He will surely have another big day today!
Tedrick was HM All-AMC last season, but has really taken his game to new heights early in this season. The 6’5 G is a tough matchup and attacks the rim relentlessly. He finishes well and with authority. This CBC team will want to control the tempo tonight against Lyon, but even if Lyon turns it into a half court game, look for Tedrick to continue to attack the rim!
This Bryan vs Montreat game features some really good Freshman. Noah Dunn of Montreat, at 6’4 240lbs is a monster. He is averaging 18ppg and is already terrorizing Appalachian Athletic Conference defenses. He is a tough matchup because he can bully smaller guards, while going around bigger slower players. He is a unique player who has proven he can beat you in a lot of different ways. He is another Freshman to keep an eye on over the next few years!
One of the articles that, unfortunately, was pulled from this year’s magazine was the Non-Conference games that we have circled to watch! These are simply
