Games of the Day:

RV CIU @ 25 Point 7pm ET Live Video

Big game for 1st place in the AAC tonight. Both teams are vying to win the AAC Regular Season Championship and become the 1st team to dethrone Union in the past 7 seasons. Point went to CIU earlier this season and won in OT and come into this game winners of 13 of their last 15 games. CIU has lost 2 of it’s last 3 games to put them in this position. They will need to play well on the road tonight to keep in the AAC Title contention. Should be a fun AAC game between these two tonight!

Middle Georgia @ 7 Faulkner 7pm ET Live Video

Faulkner’s only two losses of the year were to #1 Indiana Wesleyan and this Middle Georgia team. They have played three times this season with neither team winning by more than 7pts. Faulkner still holds a 1.5 game advantage over Middle Georgia in the SSAC East, but a win today would nearly lock up the division.

2 LSU Shreveport @ 21 LSU Alexandria 7pm CT Live Video

This has been a fun rivalry over the past few years, but this years scheduling gives this game more intrigue. This is one of the best coaching jobs Larry Cordero has done with LSUA. They don’t have nearly the top end talent that they are accustomed to. While they sit at 15-2 on the season, they have one of the worst SoS’s of the 200 teams that are playin NAIA. They may need a good win over Shreveport or Texarakana late this season in order to get into the NAIA Tournament. Shreveport has been super explosive this season. Leading the country in PPG at 104.45. If they can force they can force the tempo in this one then they can go into The Fort and get a win tonight.

MACU @ 8 USAO 7:45pm CT Live Video

We are well aware that we aren’t getting any Christmas letters this year from the MACU faithful. We have been bombarded with DM’s and messages about not putting them into our NAIA Bracketology Report bracket. Unfortunately, due to Covid and scheduling, they are 7-2 overall, but just 3-2 against NAIA programs. As we discussed on NHR -The Podcast this week, they will have plenty of chances in a good Sooner Athletic Conference to build their resume back up. They are fully healthy now and a road win vs #8 Science & Arts would be a HUGE resume builder for a team that was a Top 5 program to start the season. This game got postponed a week ago and there are some rumors out there to as of why it happened. Nonetheless expect this game to be INTENSE!!! Both teams will by hyped up and ready to play in this one.

Five Players To Watch

#1 Rodney Munson 6’2 G LSU Alexandria

– 27th in the NAIA in 3FG% at 49.1%

– 6th in the RRAC in Scoring at 14.6ppg

– 3rd in the RRAC in FG% at 56.2%

– 2nd in the RRAC in APG with 4.2

After a slow start to the year, Munson was thrown into action once LSUA lost 2 of their top 3 scorers. Munson, just a Freshman, leads the Generals in scoring and has scored in double figures in 11 straight games. LSUA has a BIG step up in competition today, facing #2 LSU-Shreveport. Munson will need another big game for the Generals to pull off the upset!

#3 Leondre Washington 6’0 G LSU Shreveport

– 22nd in the NAIA in PPG with 21.36

The dynamic duo between Washington and Kadavion Evans is quickly turning into a Trio with Jeff Boyd coming on strong. Washington is 2nd in scoring on this team, but continues to be impressive. He is coming off a bad night against Texarkana, so he will be on a bounce back game tonight, and Shreveport could use it on the road tonight!

#1 Stephon Hall 6’0 G Science & Arts

– 14th in the NAIA in FT% at 88.2%

– 9th in the SAC in scoring at 16.31ppg

– 5th in the SAC in SPG with 1.69

– 4th in the SAC in APG with 4.0

Stephon Hall is playing like an All-American right now and has come up big for the Drovers when they have needed it. The do-it-all guard can score when they need him to score, but also does a great job of setting up teammates for great shots. Look for another big game out of Hall tonight.ย

#1 Tony Dorsey 6’0 G MACU

Dorsey has only been back for 2 games now, but boy has he made his presence felt. He dropped 21pts on Southwestern Christian and 23pts, 5rebs, 5assts in a win versus Oklahoma City. This MACU team is going to look for more of the same tonight from the All-SAC performer as they try to keep the momentum going with an upset against USAO tonight.ย

#3 Myles Burns 6’6 G/F Loyola

Just Named SSAC Player of the Week

– 8th in the NAIA in ORPG at 3.615

– 34th in the NAIA in SPG 2.09

– 36th in the NAIA in RPG with 8.92ย

Burns is having another All-American type season. He is coming off of a 39pt, 9reb, 4stl performance against William Carey. He has one of the best motors in the NAIA and competes his tail off each and every night.ย
