The Daily Dive is your deep dive into the news and notes from around the NAIA Hoops World. Every day we will highlight some of the top headlines, conference updates, player accolades, coaching milestones and more. This used to be our Morning Bullet Points series. We went away from it this year, as others were doing similar things and we didn’t want to step on any toes. At the request of many, we have elected to bring it back for the second half of the season. Feel free to DM us on Twitter (@NAIAHoopsReport) or send an email to naiahoopsreport@gmail.com to recommend stories to be included into this segment.

Recap of Yesterday’s Games of the Day:

Reinhardt 75 @ Point 70 (Full Recap)

Huge win for Reinhardt last night! While there is still a 3-way tie atop the standings, not everyone in the league is gong to finish with the same amount of games played. The winner of the AAC Regular Season is scheduled to get an auto-bid to the National Tournament, so going to be interesting to see how the AAC sorts this out if the teams remain in a tie.

Governors State 59 @ Olivet Nazarene 80 (Full Recap)

Olivet Nazarene beat Governors State last night and is now sitting pretty to get one of the CCAC’s auto-bids. The Tigers jump all over GSU from the tip going up by 12 at the half. They never looked back as they built on that lead in the 2nd half behind a 19pt, 14reb, 5blk performance from Alex Gross who may have cemented himself as the CCAC Player of the Year.

Indiana Wesleyan:

– While the stat itself is a cool one, I want to touch base on the fact that Indiana Wesleyan does such a great job of marketing their teams and players. They constantly have stats like this flowing out to the public, always accompanied by a sweet graphic. With no ESPN or National TV deals picking up coverage on NAIA’s, institutions have to pick up the slack. Indiana Wesleyan and Science & Arts (OK) are two of the best in the NAIA at using social media to promote their teams, players and coaches!

Speaking of Indiana Wesleyan, just kidding John!! Make sure you go follow our friend John McCarthy with Small College Basketball! He does some great things covering small college hoops and is worth the follow!

– Slow Monday with a lot of cancellations around the NAIA. Hopefully this weather will go away and we can get an action packed week of games in before conference tournament actions begins next week! Stay warm and safe everyone!
