February 18th NAIA Games

Games of the Day:

Vanguard @ Hope International 6pm PTย Live Video

Hope International took game 1 earlier this week. If they can win again, they may need to find 4 more regular season games to get to 10 games as they will control their own destiny in the GSAC West. Vanguard still leads the 3 teams left playing. One team gets an auto-bid to the NAIA National Tournament.ย

ย College of Idaho @ 4 Lewis-Clark State 7pm MTย Live Video

Our 1st postseason game of the season!!! The only two teams left playing in the Cascade Collegiate Conference meet in Game 1 of the Best of 3 format. Lewis-Clark State has been really good this year and gets the 1st game at home. CoI plays great defense and is a tough team. They will make it difficult on LCSC tonight! Should be a great opening game for the 2020-21 NAIA postseason!

Ave Maria @ Southeastern 7:30pm ETย Live Videoย &ย Thomas @ 23 Warner 7:30pm ETย Live Video

The Sun Conference Regular Season Title is coming down to the final two games of the regular season. Right now Warner and Ave Maria are both tied for 1st place. Ave has to hit the road to face a Southeastern team who HAS to win to make The Sun Conference Tournament. Keep an eye on both of these games tonight!

ย

Five Players To Watch

#12 Damek Mitchell 5’9 G Lewis-Clark State

– 33rd in the NAIA in APG with 4.8

Continues to be one of the best PG’s in the country. Damek has the experience in big games that you want from the Guard position. He is so good at getting this team to where they need to go and getting the ball to the right players. He is also a great scorer when needed. The game looks so easy for him!

#2 Ricardo Time 6’2 G College of Idaho

Ricardo can score when the Yotes need him to, but with how good of a defender as Time is, he will most likely be in charge of slowing down Damek Mitchell tonight. Big game for the Yotes tonight, as they start the Best of 3 games with Lewis-Clark State in order to qualify for the NAIA National Tournament.ย

#3 Rod Boggan 6’1 G Warner

– 24th in the NAIA in FT% at 86.8%

– 4th in the TSC in PPG at 17.17

Rod has been great this season for the Royals. If they are going to win The Sun Conf title, he is going to have to continue to be great against Thomas tonight!

#24 Kemryn Jenkins 6’1 G McPherson

– 29th in the NAIA in 3FGM

– 48th in the NAIA in 3FGM per game with 2.762

– 7th in the KCAC in Scoring with 16.38ppg

Going to be a fun matchup between Kemryn and the two youngsters (Robinson and Gaston-Chapman) from Southwestern! A lot of the games points should come from that trio.

#32 Trystan Bradley 6’8 F Lewis-Clark State

Bradley is so smooth for his size. He floats on the perimeter like a guard, but can also beat you in and around the paint. He will be a tough matchup for CoI tonight. This LCSC team is really balanced, but it’s Bradley who leads them in scoring with 16.71ppg.
