Semifinal Game Notes:
#5 Southwestern @ #1 Bethel 2pm CT Live Video
Season series tied 1-1
Both teams took care of their home floor against each other. Neither game was over 10pts though and you should expect to see the same here. As good as Bethel has played they face a young and tough Southwestern squad who shows up each night and battles. They will have to find a way to slow down Jaylon Scott today though as he comes in off of back to back triple-double performances.
#3 Ottawa @ #2 Oklahoma Wesleyan 2pm CT Live Video
Season Series tied 1-1
Once again both teams protected their home floors in the series. Both of the games were also shootouts with both teams going over 90pts. You can expect to see another shootout today as that is kind of how Ottawa has been playing. They will force the tempo and play fast. Oklahoma Wesleyan has shown they can keep pace though and this should be a fun contest today.
OTHER NOTES:
KCAC Semifinal Preview – From KCAC Website
– 2 Bid League: Regular Season Champ: #18 Bethel & Tournament Champ: TBD
– The last team with back to back KCAC Tournament Titles? McPherson in 2011-12 and 12-13.
– No KCAC Team in the past 10 years has more than 2 KCAC Tournament Titles.
– The Tournament was expanded from 8 teams to 12 this season for Covid scheduling conflicts. It will return to 8 next season.
Our Pick To Win It: Bethel – This may be one of the most wide open leagues, but the Threshers have the best player in the league in Jaylon Scott, who is coming off of a triple-double against #3 William Penn. While the end result wasn’t what they wanted, this team showed they can shoot the 3 well and maybe that WPU game gets them going from the perimeter. They are very tough defensively and have the ability to play small ball to offset bigger teams.
