The Starting Five series is a series that will put the spotlight on the players of the NAIA who are in action today. This series will be in replace of the old Five Players to Watch series that was part of our Schedule and Links Articles. Each Starting Five segment will consist of a captain and four players. The captain spot is simply a way of giving extra focus to a player by giving them a little bit of a deeper dive into their season. While there are always more than five players to watch every day, this article is more so to just highlight the great talent around the NAIA more than it is to say these are the five best players playing on that day.
Captain

#3 Tim Cameron 6’4, Senior, Central Methodist
Tim has had quite the journey, but that is also part of what makes the NAIA so fun and unique. A former All-American at Loyola (LA), Tim now finds himself at Central Methodist and having a really nice year. Tim is coming off of a 24pt, 5reb, 6asst performance while hitting 6 of 8 3’s in a loss to Bluefield at NAIA – The Show last week. The do-it-all guard really competes and is so good at creating for himself and for others. He also has great instincts and hands defensively. It is great seeing Tim taking advantage of this chance and looking forward to seeing what he does the rest of the season!
Rest of Today’s Starting Five
#1 Noah Dunn, 6’4 Freshman, Montreat
23.5ppg|8.8rpg|2.4apg
Noah is one of the most intriguing players in the country. Don’t let teh 6’4, 240lbs fool you. Noah can flat hoop! He is 5th in the NAIA in scoring and if you have never seen him hoop, you need to!
#32 Frankie Davidson 6’7, Sophomore, Grace (IN)
24.6ppg|6.8rpg
In case you wanted to know who leads the NAIA in scoring right now, it is Frankie Davidson. Him and the Lancers have a big game against #1 St Francis tonight and Frankie will need to have another big game if the Lancers want to pull off the upset!
#22 Aidan Vanderloo 6’1, Sophomore, Morningside
18.2ppg|2rpg|1.7apg
The former U of Iowa transfer had a great end of the season last year including a nice showing in Kansas City. This season he has been great again. Leading the Mustangs in scoring at 18.2ppg and he is doing it while shooting 50% from 3!
#1 Brandon McQueen, 6’1 Senior, Trinity International
23.5ppg|5rpg|5.4apg
5th in the NAIA in PPG. 14th in the NAIA in APG. Brandon is one of the best play makers in the NAIA. They face a tough Olivet Nazarene team tonight led by Alex Gross, but you can believe that Brandon will put on a show!
