- Good Morning NAIA Hoops Nation!! Thank you for your patience last night with our technical difficulties, and not getting the Links to Watch games posted. I had it typed up 2 different times, and both times the app closed and deleted it while trying to publish it. I seem to have it fixed now though, so back on track per usual today!
- With no “circled games” last night we will talk about some of the games that had some affect on post season play. We will start out in the GPAC.
- Our guy Tad was ALL over it this morning with his tweet:
- Only 8 of the leagues 11 teams get into the GPAC Conference Tournament, so all of these games matter. As always, look for the full breakdown of this weeks GPAC action on Monday’s.
- Congrats are in store for Tyler Borchers of Morningside, who set the school record for career made FG’s last night!!
- The WHAC is starting to heat up as well, as the league has turned into a 3 horse race for 1st place.
- #13 Lourdes got a BIG 87-77 win @ #22 Madonna last night to keep them in 1st place by a half of a game.
- Indiana Tech was in a battle with Rochester last night, but they were able to pull out the win to keep pace with Lourdes.
- Only 8 teams from the WHAC will make the conference tournament as well, so there were some big games in the lower half of the league as well.
- Aquinas got a HUGE 78-67 win over UM-Dearborn last night, paired with the Lawrence Tech loss, the win helped Aquinis move into a 3-way tie with Lawrence Tech and Concordia (MI) for that final 8 seed in the WHAC tournament.
- Before we move on to some of the NAIA DI action, we also wanted to say congratulations to Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougar Jevon Knox who went over the 1,500 career point mark this week.
- In Top 25 NAIA DI action, #9 Carroll (MT) got upset by MSU-Northern 58-48 in Frontier Conference play last night. The loss gives #12 Lewis-Clark St. a 1 game lead in the conference.
- The Heart of America also saw action in NAIA DI hoops last night. While we were looking forward to the #3 William Penn vs RV MidAmerican Nazarene game, it got postponed. MidAm gave WPU it’s only loss of the season so far back in November.
- While William Penn continues to hold a 3 game lead in the league, there was a 4-way tie for 2nd place (MidAm, Clarke, Peru St, Benedictine) headed into last night. However, road games in the Heart proved to be tough once again as Benedictine lost @ Baker 65-67 and Peru St. lost at Missouri Valley 75-79.
- With the win, Baker holds a 2 game lead for the 8th and final seed in the Heart Conference Tournament this year. Benedictine will now host #3 William Penn on Saturday in a big showdown!
- We have a big Thursday slate today, so make sure you stay tuned with NAIA Hoops Report for all of your NAIA Hoops Coverage!!
