- Good Morning NAIA Hoops Nation!! Such a fun time of year, and we are trying to keep up, but we have neglected the Morning Bullet Points feature for a few days. Since it is one of our most read daily posts, we apologize to all of you who read these daily!
- We will start with our NAIA DI circled games from last night. In our first one Lyon defeated Freed-Hardeman 73-59. Lyon came in on a 3 game losing streak, but were happy to return back home after the long road trip. The win was big for possible tie breaker scenarios that may come into affect with all of the AMC so closely strung together. The Top 6 teams in the league are separated by just 2 games.
- Out west, Montana Tech upset rival #17 Carroll 74-66. The win moves Montana Tech back into 4th place in the Frontier Conference. Carroll remains the 2 seed, but are just a half game up on Providence.
- Moving off to our NAIA DII Games, the one singled out game we had saw IU Southeast knock off IU Kokomo 77-67 to become the Rivers State Conference West Division Regular Season Champions!! Such a huge win for IU Southeast. Kokomo now moves to the 2 seed in the West.
- Since we said the entire Crossroads League was under our circled games, we will start off by dissecting last nights action.
- With their 110-96 win over #23 Grace last night, #3 Indiana Wesleyan won their 11th Crossroads Championship in the past 15 years! The Wildcats have looked like a National Championship contender all season long. They will look to carry that momentum through the Crossroads Tournament.
- #15 Saint Francis defeated #5 Marian 73-62 in OT. They will play Spring Arbor on Saturday with the winner getting the 4 seed, and getting to host a 1st round Crossroads League Tournament game.
- A couple of Crossroads players joined the 1,000 point scoring club last night. Big congrats to both Caleb Middlesworth (Huntington) and Jeff Beckman (Spring Arbor) on joining the 1k Club last night!
- There is still a lot to sort out on Saturday, but our guy Jake Pommerer was hard at work last night and this is his breakdown for the possible outcomes in the Crossroads League on Saturday.
- Grace locks into the 3 seed with a win, or a St Francis win
- St Francis is the 4 with a win
- Spring Arbor is the 3 seed with a win and a Grace loss
- Taylor is the 5 seed with a win and a Spring Arbor loss
- A St. Francis loss, and a Taylor win means that St Francis is the 5 seed and Taylor is the 6
- IF both Taylor and MVNU lose, and Bethel wins, the standings won’t change
- IF MVNU and Bethel both win, and Taylor loses, Bethel would get the 7 seed
- Huntington can still get into tournament with a win, a Bethel loss, and a Grace win
- Speaking of scenarios for this week Tad Dorsey also put his out for the GPAC games this week:
- Congratulations to Coach Patrick Crarey at Washington Adventist, who got his 150th win!
- This being the last week of games for NAIA DII regular season games, our postseason coverage will start ramping up soon! As always, be sure to keep checking back in with NAIA Hoops Report, for the BEST coverage of all things NAIA Basketball!
