December 11th NAIA Games

Games of the Day:

ย Bryan @ Columbia International 3:00pm ETย Live Video

Bryan hasn’t played as many games as others, but still remains undefeated in AAC play at 2-0. They have a tough road test today though as they go play a Columbia International squad that sits at 5-2 on the year with both losses coming at a combined 6 points. This should be a fun one out in the AAC today!

ย

Bethel (IN) @ Mount Vernon Nazarene 3:00pm ETย Live Video

Bethel is now winners of 3 straight since their loss to #3 Indiana Wesleyan while Mount Vernon Nazarene is coming off a toad road loss @ 12 Marian. This should be a fun matchup between some stellar guards on each side. Javon Knox has scored 20+ in each of MVNU’s games this season thus far as he inches closer and closer to that 2k career scoring mark. Zac Owens and TreVion Crews will lead the way for Bethel.ย

ย

Florida Collegeย vsย Freed Hardemanย 5:00pm ETย Live Video

A fun non conference neutral court game being played down in Florida later today as Florida College and Freed Hardeman square off at Southeastern (FL). Freed remains undefeated at 6-0 this season. Florida College is 5-3 with a previous loss to Freed a couple weeks back. Matt Simpson had 25 points in the previous matchup for FC, but it was the balanced Freed Hardeman attack that ultimately gave them a 77-65 win.ย

ย

Five Players To Watch

Gene Holmes 5’11 G Bryan College – 11.8ppg/4.3rpg/2.0spg

Gene is a tough and aggressive guard who is crafty at the rim. It’s a balanced Bryan attack that has them sitting at 5-1 this season, but Gene leads the charge for a team that could have something to say about the AAC Title.

Reggie Mesidor 6’0 G Southeastern (FL) – 13.71ppg/4.0rpg

Riley Minex, rightfully so, gets most of the hype on this Fire team. However, Reggie is putting together a really good season as well. He now has 5 games in double figures and has been a consistent piece for a good Southeastern team.

Tavon King 5’11 G Cumberland (TN) – 21.25ppg/3.8rpg/3apg/2.3spg

King is coming off a big 34 point performance in an OT win against Pikeville. That effort earned him both the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week and the Tennessee Sports Writers Player of the Week. King is an electric scorer and as we saw last week, he has ‘take over a game’ capabilities that makes him fun to watch.

Zac Owens 5’11 G Bethel (IN) – 21.67ppg/3.4rpg

Zac actually leads this Bethel team in scoring and is coming off of 35 and 27 point games in his last two games. Him and Crews provide a dynamic back court for the Pilots. Zac just joined the 1,000pt career scoring club and will look to carry the momentum from the last two games into a tough road test today.

Lorenzo Freeman 6’2 G Point (GA) – 20.75ppg/4.9rpg

Freeman is another electric scoring guard from the AAC. He is coming off of a 24 and 26 point performance over his last two games and has gone over 20 points in 7 different games this season. He can really fill it up and is a much watch!
