2020-21 AMC Standings
Central Baptist (Ark)(8-3,4-0)- The Mustangs sit atop the AMC standings after two weeks of conference play after picking up big wins against Lyon College (Ark) on Tuesday, William Woods (Mo) on Thursday, and Missouri Baptist on Saturday to go 3-0 on the week. TaJuan Johnson, Tedrick Wolfe, Zach Hudson, Brevin Brimble, Jordan Parker,and Preston Whitfield all had at least one double-figure scoring performance during the week. The team will take a three-game winning streak into this week, where they are scheduled to travel to Williams Baptist (Ark) on Tuesday, Harris-Stowe State (Mo) on Thursday and host Columbia College (Mo) on Saturday.
Lyon College (Ark)(4-3,3-1)- The Scots had a rough start to the week, as the team dropped a lopsided contest to Central Baptist (Ark) on Tuesday. The team responded on Thursday in a lopsided win over Bacone (Okla) and a conference win on Saturday over William Woods (Mo). The team got some good play from Cole Anderson, as he averaged 12.5 points and Grant Patterson, who averaged 10 points in the two AMC contests last week. This week the team is scheduled to travel to Columbia College (Mo) on Tuesday, host Health and Sciences Pharmacy on Thursday, and visit Harris-Stowe State on Saturday.
Williams Baptist (Ark) (5-5,3-1)- The Eagles split their two-game schedule last week, falling to Missouri Baptist at home, and a win against Harris-Stowe State on the road. This week the team is scheduled to have a three-game homestand, as they welcome Central Baptist (Ark) on Tuesday, Columbia College (Mo) on Thursday, and Health Sciences & Pharmacy (Mo) on Saturday. Reigning AMC Player of the Week Shakeel Butters led the team in scoring last week in both contests as he averaged 14.5 points for the week, including a 16-point, 12-rebound performance against Missouri Baptist and a 14-point, 18-rebound performance against Harris-Stowe State. Cortez King also had a solid week, with a 15-point performance against Missouri Baptist, and 12 points in the win over Harris-Stowe State.
Columbia College (Mo)(8-3,2-1)- The Cougars went 1-0 on the week, as the team got a close win over Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo). The team got a big boost from Tony Burk’s 23-point performance, Cameron Vanleer’s 12-point, nine-rebound performance, and Harrison Vicker’s 10-point performance in the win. This week the team is scheduled to host Lyon College (Ark) on Tuesday and visit Williams Baptist (Ark) on Thursday, and Central Baptist (Ark) on Saturday.
Missouri Baptist (7-4,3-2)- The Spartans went 2-1 on the week, falling to Central Baptist (Ark) on Saturday, and picking up wins against Williams Baptist and Health & Sciences Pharmacy. The Spartans got good play from Brendan Hardy, River Reed, John Yeager, Tyrell Andrews and Daishun Woods, as they each scored in double-figures last week. This week the team is scheduled to face a three-game road trip starting with Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo) on Tuesday, William Woods (Mo) on Thursday and Harris-Stowe State (Mo) on Saturday.
William Woods (Mo)(2-5,2-3)- The Owls went 1-2 on their three-game road trip last week, starting off with a win over Health Sciences & Pharmacy on Tuesday, and losses to Central Baptist on Thursday and Lyon on Saturday. The team got good play from Spencer Yoggerst, Tyriel Nelson, Darius Yohe, Mackenzie Fessler and Jared Crutcher, as all of the players posted double-figure scoring games last week. This week, the team is scheduled to take on Missouri Baptist on Thursday and Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo) on Saturday for a two-game homestand.
Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo)(3-10,2-3)- The Trojans went 2-1 last week, falling to Columbia College on Thursday, and getting wins over Harris-Stowe State and Health & Sciences Pharmacy. The Trojans relied on good play from Grant Peters, David Brown, Logan Dorethy and Landon Hall as they all scored in double-figures last week. This week, the team is scheduled to host Missouri Baptist on Tuesday and visit William Woods (Mo) on Saturday.
Harris-Stowe State (Mo) (1-5,0-3)– Going into week two, the Hornets will still be searching for their first AMC win. Last week the team went 0-2 with losses to Hannibal-LaGrange and Williams Baptist.The Hornets relied on Nick McKenzie and Riley Barnes last week, as both players scored in double-figures in both games. This week the team is scheduled to take on Central Baptist (Ark) on Thursday and Lyon (Ark) on Saturday.
Health Sciences & Pharmacy (Mo)(1-12,0-5)- The Eutectics are still looking for their first win in AMC play, as the team went 0-3 last week with losses to William Woods (Mo), Missouri Baptist, and Hannibal-LaGrange (Mo). The team relied on scoring from RJ Wright, Jason Udolisa, Uros Rogan, and Will Feese, as all of those players scored in double-figures last week.
