Championship Breakdown
LSU Shreveport punched their ticket to the NAIA National Championships already. XULA has most likely played themselves into an at-large selection if they don’t pass Texarkana in the final ARC Ratings. XULA has been playing great defense and getting some really nice shooting efforts. They will need to continue to play great defense today as the RRAC Player of the Year, Jalen Brooks has been a monster this season. Both of the regular season games between the two were close games. Shreveport won both with Brooks going for 22 and 38 points in those games. Shreveport actually swept the RRAC Awards as well. Brooks, along with his POY selection, was also named Defensive player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. Teammate Jordan Decuir was named Freshman of the Year and Coach Blankenship was named RRAC Coach of the Year. For Xavier, it comes down to Xavier Reaves and Lance Williams. The Gold Rush need their studs to show up in this one to have a chance!
