The Mid-South Conference is a brutally tough league, that always prepares their teams for the National Tournament. This year was no exception, as the Regular Season and Tournament Champions, Georgetown College, also won the NAIA DI National Championship. Three teams from the league (Georgetown, Pikeville, and Cumberlands (Ky)) all qualified for the NAIA DI National Tournament. Pikeville made it to the NAIA Quarterfinals before losing.
